Fire Breathing Dragon Tribal Art Puzzle Box

dragon-puzzle-box

From the website:  Dragon Puzzle Box

Measures 6.7 x 3.5 x 1.8

We make all our boxes from Beachwood, a grain neutral hardwood resistant to warping, cracking and remarkably sustainable due to its fast grow rate.
We are able to achieve a very high level of detail combining old school craftsmanship methods with modern woodworking techniques.

All our puzzle boxes are finished outside with a clear oil base and the Interior is coated (flocked) red. A clever hidden key is part of the design and needs to be removed to unlock these pieces.

Each piece also includes;

– “Felt Pads” on the bottom to prevent scratching on all surfaces.
– Rare earth magnets, this insures smooth opening and locking (larger pieces only)
– Gift box packaging option
– Everything is in stock and shipped in 1 business day USPS priority.
– 100% money back guarantee returned in 10 days

Next up is a fire breathing dragon puzzle that shows it’s fire from The Ramp Hatchery

Wooden Fire Breathing Dragon Puzzle

From the website: The dragon is having an unpleasant day, since St. George is visiting.

Hand cut from maple or walnut wood and finished with clear danish oil.
This puzzle comes from an original design with 15 pieces measuring 6 inches tall x 10 inches wide. All puzzles are hand carved. As a result, each piece is unique so the color and wood-grain will vary from puzzle to puzzle.

Dragon Thursday

I was looking for something unusual for Dragon Thursday when I happened upon a website called Wind & Weather.  They had two items that caught my eye.

It is winter here and what could be better for storing your kindling than a dragon?

Dragon Thursday

I woke up the other morning feeling particularly grumpy.  A Grumpy Dragon.  So of course I did a Google search for grumpy dragon and found this adorable grumpy dragon by

He has a complete story (from the Safari Ltd. website):

History

Grumpy Dragons were not always a separate species—they were once kin to Forest Dragons. But time, luck, and fate drew them apart, leaving Grumpy Dragons rather upset. No doubt the small dragons still range in deep forests, but without the ability to fly, they don’t travel far from their homes.

Story

The thick forests of northern Gaul always felt dismal, but this day, the mood felt even more dreary as a tired knight picked his way among the trees. There had been a great battle, and every battle has a losing side. The knight had been unhorsed, his armor dented, and he’d lost his helmet. His sword hung lazily in its scabbard as he stumbled along kicking rocks in disgust. Suddenly, he looked up and saw a dragon blocking his path. But this wasn’t one of the flying fire-breathers he’d heard tales of. This dragon was small, wingless, and appeared frustrated. It was, of course, a Grumpy Dragon. With nothing left to lose, the knight invited the dragon to spend the evening around his campfire sharing stories. The grumpy dragon agreed, and it told story after story of sadness and woe. The next morning, the clearing was empty and the fire gone, but the knight felt much happier, and there was a spring in his step as he continued his journey home.

and this adorable video on the website.  Although this (Melyna) Grumpy Dragon needs coffee, not breakfast 😉

The company has an entire series of dragons. To find your dragon click HERE

Dragon Thursday

Good morning!

I found an awesome shop on Etsy in my search for Christmas Dragons.

playrama-logo

The shop is Playrama located in Wellington, United Kingdom.  The owner is Leo Hartas.    From the shops About section:

“Both Jo and I come up with ideas for Playramas and I design and illustrate them. They a
re printed and cut out in Leeds, UK, and then we pack them ourselves and ship them out. It’s a surprisingly lot of work, and we have boxes all over the house, but’s fun and great to see our tiny venture growing every week.”

The Etsy shop sells designs that one can purchase and print out.  They have so many wonderful designs!  This is the Christmas dragon that led me to their store.  I love it!

Dragon Thursday

The holidays are approaching and thoughts of adding to the hoard,uh, I mean thoughts of finding  gifts for those of us who love dragons, is near.

I came across some lovely, whimsical gift ideas on Etsy from a shop by the name of DesignbyWendyBgd

One item in particular caught my eye.  It is an iridescent, rainbow-colored dragon egg.  It comes in a wooden box with a dragon story and an option to add a personalized certificate for the Dragon Keeper.

This would make a fun gift.

I also enjoyed this comment from the shop owner/designer:

CAUTION: If you put the egg into fire, you do that at your own risk! It will either burn or hatch a dragon.

I don’t think I would risk it. 😉

Dragon Thursday

Ideas come from unexpected places.

Yesterday on Facebook, a friend shared a photo of a woman made of twigs.  She was fantastic.  All I could manage to find out was that it was from a Dutch art fair.

This led me to look for twig dragons which led me to Wicker Dragons  I found this one on Pinterest but the link led me to a dead end.  I found a similar dragon at a site called Bere Island.net and their basketry section.
