Coffee Monday – Keeping it cozy
Good morning.
You know when you go out to your favorite coffee shop and they add the cardboard sleeve to the cup to keep you from burning your hands as you carefully wrap them around that precious cup of sanity?
Ever thought about making your morning cup a bit more stylish? I went to Etsy yesterday looking at ideas for Coffee Monday and one of the first things that popped up were these beautiful knit coffee cozies.
The shop is Knitting Wonders and they have Knit Scarves, Hats, Mittens, Blankets, Patterns & More!
These cozies look soft and come in several colors. They are having a sale on these now, so get one for yourself and a friend. These would be fun stocking stuffers or as a gift for the coffee lover in your life.

Good morning and happy Friday!
The weekend is almost here and I am ready to relax. Well, not really. I have a long list of things that I need to do, but I still plan to make time to relax while working in the garden, or enjoying the wildflowers while running errands. I may even enjoy a glass of wine or an ice-cold beer and watch the sunset. When I found these cute earrings in Blanco the last time I was there , they reminded me of all these things.
I found these earrings at Brieger Pottery. I attempted to find the company listed on the display paper. I did not find any active sites, but I did find funbeadwork.com , which I think is the same person.

Texas wildflowers – Castilleja indivisa Engelm
I always look forward to spring in the Texas hill country. Bluebonnets, Gaillardia, primroses, paintbrushes and so many more. As we were driving along a rural road I spotted a yellow flower standing among hundreds of Scarlet Paintbrushes. It was a first for me. I had to go back and see if it was actually a yellow variation of the flower. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was and that there were several scattered throughout the area.

Dragon Thursday
Recently, I received an unexpected package in the mail. I recognized the name on the return address , but could not imagine what they would be sending me. It turned out to be a beautiful framed cross-stitched dragon. I did not know why I was sent this amazing gift and contacted the friend that sent it.
It was made by Jennifer Hesse for an auction held by The Knightly Order of the Fiat Lux (KOFL) ,a fraternal non-profit organization dedicated to serving the community, ( http://www.kofl-games.org/about.php )
The auction supported The Autism Society of North Carolina.( http://www.autismsociety-nc.org/ ) Jennifer put a lot of time into this beautiful piece and I am honored that someone wanted me to have this gorgeous dragon. There was no note, and Jennifer couldn’t say who had won the auction or who had sent it to me, other than they are a mutual friend.
So thank you mystery friend and thank you Jennifer!
