Coffee Monday

Good morning!

The weather has been feeling like summer and I find myself drinking more iced coffee than hot.  I typically do not drink coffee with sweeteners but I saw this recipe on several places on the Internet and it sounded good.  It is also based off a drink from one of my favorite book series and movies, Harry Potter.

Thanks to Pinterest and Instagram posts.

This is the recipe for ordering the drink from Starbucks.

If you prefer hot, I found this  in several places too:

Whole milk steamer

Add caramel syrup (2 for tall, 3 for grande, 4 for venti)

Add toffee nut syrup (2 for tall, 3 for grande, 4 for venti)

Add cinnamon dolce syrup (2 for tall, 3 for grande, 4 for venti)   Not all of the recipes I saw add the cinnamon dolce syrup.

Whipped cream and salted caramel bits on top or caramel syrup

Dragon Thursday

Hello!

This week I visited the Etsy site again and found another shop with amazing dragon creations.  The shop is

The artist and shop owner is Astrid Ayora Carvajal .  Here is more about her and her creations from the About section of her Etsy shop.

I’m currently a full time sculptor of my art, i studied graphic design and i worked as an illustrator before.
I opened my store to share with people my Polymer Clay creations, I love sculpting, i try my best every time, I use the best quality materials I can find, spend hours thinking and playing with the clay until finally i get one design ready.

Every product is meticulous sculpted, decorated and sometimes painted and its part of a work process. I often look at each of my creations and wonder who is going to adopt them and what would they see in them. After all this time my old pieces are still finding owners, which makes me really happy. Nothing magical is meant to be disposed in this world 🙂

I find gratification every time somebody express satisfaction when they find an item on my store.

My product is not liked by everyone, but its liked by the right ones. Each of them already have an owner, they just haven’t found them yet.

What drew me to her site were the shoulder dragons.  Unfortunately, she is no longer taking orders for these dragons but you can still view them at her shop.  Gorgeous!

You can also order custom dragons like this one :

There are also custom cake toppers!

Amazing creations and I have not even started on the jewelry.  I think I will save that for another day.  In the meantime, please visit Makosla Creations on Etsy.  There are so many wonder dragons to meet.

Dragon Thursday

Hello!

This week my search for dragons led me to Etsy.   I love finding fun and unique items and the Etsy site hosts shops for many clever and creative artists.  At one such shop, I found an unusual dragon bracelet.

The shop is VaniLlamaArt

There were two dragon bracelets that caught my eye.  The first was this fantasy dragon bracelet.

The other was the bracelet done in a cool galaxy finish, titled Nebula Dragon bracelet

These are custom-made.  Not a mold.  Each bracelet is  made to order.

From the store:

Dragon’s head and each body segment (beads) are made from polymer clay, carefully hand sculpted, touched with metallic pigments and sealed with varnis; they are strung on a black cotton cord.
The bracelet length: can be customised
Metal fastening: in antique brass or silver colour.

>>> IMPORTANT CUSTOM ORDER INFO:
Each dragon is fully hand sculpted and decorated (not casted in molds) so it takes some time to make it. Also sizes, shapes and colors can vary a bit but style will stay – I prefer it to look a bit different every time – so each one is unique 🙂

The artist also has a link to a video on how they makes this beautiful jewelry.  Amazing.

The artist’s name is Dorota and you can find out more about them and their art here:  About

Dragon Thursday

Good morning!

When looking for dragons for this weeks blog  post, I found this awesome blue dragon on Pinterest.   It is by an artist named Rob Carlos.  I thought this dragon would be perfect for Earth Day (this year Earth Day is on Saturday April 22)

I contacted him and he was kind enough to let me share his Earth Dragon with you today.

His website is http://www.colorsmith.com

You can also find him on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/TheColorsmith/

Sunflower

Last year we had a volunteer Sunflower come up in the yard under a stand of Oak trees.  It was about six feet tall, slender stalk and had a beautiful bloom that you can see if you click on the link above.  This year we had one come up near the house. It is about three and a half feet tall with a thick stalk.   The blooms are similar.  It has been fun watching it grow and the bees are enjoying this early bloom very much.

Fun Finds – Bluebonnet Festival – Burnet, Texas 2017

Hello!

Recently Burnet, Texas held it’s annual Bluebonnet FestivalIt is always a fun event and  brings many wonderful artists to town.

One of my favorites is a booth that sells penny pendants.
The business is Wicked Whatnots of Texas.
I have bought charms from them in the past and I always love exploring their booth.

Having grown up in Austin, this one made me smile.

This year I met Kat & Austin O’Burke.  They have partnered with Julia, the founder of Wicked Whatnots of Texas.  In addition to the penny art, which includes, charms, pendants, bracelets, earrings, cuff links and wine glass charms, they also carry uniquely decorated flasks.

Kat

Kat & Austin also have other creations that were at the booth, but have a separate website from Wicked Whatnots of Texas.  Their site is called Kat of Wonders.    This is where you will find their fun and whimsical creations.  These include potions, wands and props.

Wands

I wish I had a video of the potions in action.   They contain  rheoscopic fluid. When you shake them they have a wonderful swirling motion.
