Dragon Thursday

I love Pinterest for finding ideas for Dragon Thursday.  This week I would like to share the Etsy site of Kerribeads.  They have some of the most beautiful beads I have seen.  In addition to having the dragon bead that caught my attention, she also offers tutorials on making the lampwork beads.  Here is more about the artist on her About section of the store:

Hello and welcome to my shop!

My name is Kerri Fuhr and I am a full-time glass bead artist, happily making beads for over 12 years here in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. My specialty is creating miniature glass “paintings”, which are ornate glass focal beads that feature landscapes, animals and dragonflies….and anything else that captures my fancy! My newest work also features bead sets with my intricate tapestry-inspired scrollwork.
While I enjoy creating jewelry collections from my beads my focus is to create beads for other jewelry designers for their own unique creations. I am happy to consider requests for certain colors and styles so please feel free to convo me with requests!
Thanks for taking the time to drop by and please check in at the end of March when I re-open the shop to see the new beads I’ll have in store for you!…

Now for the Dragons 🙂  (Click photos to go to the Etsy store)

This is the bead I found on Pinterest.  It has sold, but look at that beauty.  Gorgeous work.

new-lampwork-dragon-focal-bead-by-kerribeadsDescription from the store:

…This sly character is rich in detail and perfect for anyone who loves the mystical, fantastical world of dragons! Set against a glossy black background, this detailed dragon strikes a dramatic pose and has a rather mischievous expression! This one of a kind focal would look great with a variety of gemstone accents – every dragon’s dream!…

This bead is handcrafted with Italian glass and wound on a 3/32″ mandrel. The dragon is made from thin glass “stringer” and is melted directly into the bead. All of my beads are made fresh daily and are annealed straight from the torch in a digitally – controlled kiln for lasting durability.

focal size: 42mm x 39mm

If you want to try your hand at creating these lampwork beads, the artist sells tutorials on how to make them.  The dragons shown are exquisite. (scroll through the photos on the link to the tutorial. )

Dragon Thursday

Good morning!

I found an awesome shop on Etsy in my search for Christmas Dragons.

playrama-logo

The shop is Playrama located in Wellington, United Kingdom.  The owner is Leo Hartas.    From the shops About section:

“Both Jo and I come up with ideas for Playramas and I design and illustrate them. They a
re printed and cut out in Leeds, UK, and then we pack them ourselves and ship them out. It’s a surprisingly lot of work, and we have boxes all over the house, but’s fun and great to see our tiny venture growing every week.”

The Etsy shop sells designs that one can purchase and print out.  They have so many wonderful designs!  This is the Christmas dragon that led me to their store.  I love it!

Continuing the theme of gifts for coffee lovers, this week I have three that I found through Buzz Feeds 39 Amazing Gifts For People Who Love Coffee

First is this fun pin found on Etsy at BruisedTounge shop.  It made me laugh.

Dragon Thursday

The holidays are approaching and thoughts of adding to the hoard,uh, I mean thoughts of finding  gifts for those of us who love dragons, is near.

I came across some lovely, whimsical gift ideas on Etsy from a shop by the name of DesignbyWendyBgd

One item in particular caught my eye.  It is an iridescent, rainbow-colored dragon egg.  It comes in a wooden box with a dragon story and an option to add a personalized certificate for the Dragon Keeper.

This would make a fun gift.

I also enjoyed this comment from the shop owner/designer:

CAUTION: If you put the egg into fire, you do that at your own risk! It will either burn or hatch a dragon.

I don’t think I would risk it. 😉

The first two are from the Etsy shop called MyGardenRocks

This piece is called Sleeping Dragon and is sold. Beautiful, isn’t it?

Also from MyGardenRocks is Baby Dragon Egg

This little dragon comes from Cynthia Snider at NightOwlFineArt  (sold)

Next we have one called Dragon rock (gold) from Urmelshop

And a lovely Blue Dragon from the same shop

Dragon Thursday

I decided to search for dragons on Etsy this week.  I saw several fun stores with interesting and unique dragon products.   With summer ending and the baking season approaching, this one caught my eye.
I always loved the rolling pins that my grandmother used.  They were utilitarian and well worn from many years of baking.   I now have her rolling pins as well as my great grandmothers and my moms.  When I found these whimsical rolling pins on Etsy, I was delighted.  I could just imagine all of the fun cookies and pastries that could be created with these.

The store is called Dough Roller.  It is a small family owned business near Vilnius, Lithuania.   Dough Roller logoThis wonderful dragon design is just one of many they have in their store.  I also love the Coffee Style themed roller.  Plus there are some Folk and Flower themes, Holidays, Movies, Cats,  Dog themes… Okay.  I found many that I would love to have.  Be sure to click on the logo above and find your favorite rolling pin.

Enjoy,

Dragon Thursday

Good morning,

Once again Pinterest led me to a most interesting web store  I found a link to this dragon scarf.   Beautiful.  The artist /designer has a collection of scarves depicting dragons drawn in several styles.  They are all gorgeous. The store can be found on Etsy and it is called My Dragon Spirit.  The artist calls the dragon on the scarf below a phoenix dragon.  I did not see this particular scarf available on her store but there are many other phoenix dragon scarves as well as several other designs that are equally as beautiful.

My dragon spirit iusa_400x400.40762585_db79Here is more about the owner/designer from her About section on her store:

A touch of magic in your everyday life.

I have always been fascinated with the worlds of fantasy and fairy-tales. With places where imagination can run free and nothing is impossible.

With My Dragon Spirit I wanted to creature something special and unique. To awaken your child’s dreams of being that special little princess who is protected by her dragon or to be a little warrior who fights side by side with a dragon friend. Don’t forget that you are never to old to have fun and to run into your fantasy world.

All designs you see in my shop are my original artworks and each one of them tells its own visual story. They are delicately hand drawn with an ink and after perfecting each detail the image is carefully scanned and prepared for digital printing on fabric. It is not just a fashion. They are little guardians who will help you see the world through the eyes of mystery and wonder. So put the scarf over your shoulder and fly to your next fairy-tale adventure.

These are a must see. Click over to My Dragon Spirit and find your favorite dragon
